Mayor Gale Katchur declared May 8-13 Economic Development Week in Fort Saskatchewan.
At the announcement this morning (May 8), Katchur signed the proclamation beside Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Makin.
The declaration is in conjunction with the International Economic Development Council to promote local business, and in turn, bolster the local economy; the economic development council also creates jobs and encourages development in the city's commercial and industrial sectors.
"I urge all local businesses and residents of Fort Saskatchewan to work together to demonstrate to the world why our city is the best place to do business," stated Katchur.
The declaration is also in conjunction with several programs the city has in the works, one of which has remained a secret and will be revealed on Wednesday (May 10).
