A man has been arrested after a bust in Sherwood Park.
 
With help from various tips sent in, members of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Firearms Investigation Unit have been investigating a man for having illegal firearms in and around Edmonton.
 
On Aug.5, at around 5 p.m., EPS executed a search warrant at a residence in Sherwood Place with the help from the Strathcona County RCMP, the EPS Tactical Unit and RCMP Emergency Response team.
 
During the search, investigators found four rifles, a shotgun, over-capacity magazines, ammunition, a stolen flatbed trailer valued at $10,000, and a stolen Canadian Armed Forces military jacket.
 
Thomas Ogilvie, 34, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition (x2)
- Possession of a prohibited weapon (x2)
- Possession of firearm obtained by crime
- Firearm knowledge of unauthorized possession (x3)
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Firearm possession contrary to prohibition order (x5)
 
EPS has already seized 681 firearms during the first seven months of the year, in comparison to a total of 1,189 seized in 2019.
