Sherwood Park's Chuba Hubbard has made it to the NFL.
The Carolina Panthers selected the 21-year-old in the fourth round (126th overall) of the NFL Draft.
The Bev Facey graduate was most recently a running back for the Oklahoma State Cowboys for three years. His best season was in 2019, where he was the Big 12 Player of the Year and a consensus All-American who racked up 2,094 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.
NFL analysts highlighted Hubbard's ability to perform with a heavy workload, find space with impressive vision, skillfully change directions and running with good tempo as his strengths.
Analysts say Hubbard needs to work on his rigid running style, ball security and below-average leg drive to break NFL tackles.
The 2021 NFL season will begin on Sept.9.
