A local woman is representing Canada on an international stage.
Bruderheim's Emerance Maschmeyer is one of the goalies picked to represent Canada at the upcoming 2021 IIHF Women’s World Championship. There were 25 players selected in total; three goalies, seven defensemen and 15 forwards.
Maschmeyer has medalled in four IIHF Women’s World Championship tournaments in her career so far.
Canada will kick off the 10-team tournament with preliminary games in Group A against Finland on Aug.20, ROC on Aug.22, Switzerland on Aug.24 and the United States on Aug.26.
The tournament ends on Aug.31.
